More news from the Juchau clan

Oh how good it feels to have a new look, even if it isn't me personally! I did get my hair trimmed though, it sits above and off my shoulders so I'm not so hot throught our long summers.
If you've read Aubrey and David's blog then you already know they are going to have a little boy in September, if not...it's going to be a BOY!!! His name will be Jackson Blake Gibbons. We can't wait.
Let's see, Kaleb and Kylee went to Fairbanks, Alaska to see their Mom for the summer and next school year. We miss them already. Kris and Jamie are separated and Kris will be staying with us for about a week at the end of this month, and then he will share an apartment with one of his friends for a few months until he decides what he wants to do.
April is busy with Devon(2)her job, school, and her horse Scooter. She just finished another class and has a week off before the next one begins. She is taking on-line courses through her job at the University of Phoenix.
Ashley is busy with Regen and Graham. She is enjoying having him home from Afghanistan, and he is enjoying that cute little Regen. Ashley takes Regen to swim lessons where she is learning to kick, blow bubbles, hold her breath under water and monkey climb along the pool edge to the stairs. Ashley starts her summer math class next week and she has signed up for a full load this fall, trying to get her pre-reqs out of the way before Jan.2010, where she will begin Nursing School.
Alanna just graduated from Junior High and will be attending Westview High School in August. She will be starting her summer class of Computer Keyboarding next week also. Her and four other girls are getting this class out of the way. Her volleyball tournaments are this Saturday, she'll be sad they're over. She will attend a volleyball camp that the High School is sponsoring this July and hopes to tryout for the Jr. Varsity team this fall.
Me...well, I'm enjoying my break from school, although we need to finish our taxes, (they owe us, we hope.) I'm looking forward to our trip to Oregon in July...Ashley and Regen are going a week before Alanna and I are going. Ashley needs some dental work done. See you up there Erica and family :)
That's all from us...hope to have pictures next post.

Update in the Juchau clan

I hope all of the Mother's out there had a wonderful day. I thoroughly enjoyed mine. I haven't posted anything in two months, not alot has happened...we hope to find out today what Aubrey and David will be having, they have an ultra sound appointment at 9:00 am. Then, let the buying begin!
May is a busy month with the end of the school year projects, field trips and concerts. Alanna has her volleyball tournaments, her Sun Splash 8th grade end of school trip, and her promotion all in the next two weeks. She is going to take a summer class (computer keyboarding in June which is 1/2 a credit towards high school)with her friend Hannah, and get it out of the way. It will last for three weeks Mon-Thur from 7am-12 versus an entire semester. This will give her an extra elective or even free up a class in her senior year. Everyone, including Ashley says it's such a basic computer class that even a first grader would be bored.
I've completed two of my four classes, I have a final in History on Tuesday and I already turned in my power point final, but still have to attend for about a half and hour on Wednesday for my Environmental Geology class. Woohooo..then a summer break.
I'm going to Girls Camp as one of the cooks in June, it's a beautiful camp site that the church owns. Ashley went there for four years and this will be Alanna's third year. Aubrey even went one year as a camp choir director!
Hopefully I can post some pictures and try to catch up as soon as classes are over. Have a great week everyone.

Smilebox, it's so much fun!!!!

I just found the coolest sight, it's called smilebox, and you can make digital photo albums by just dragging your pictures into already made scrap pages. It's way easier than changing your background. Be sure to lower the volume of my music list and enjoy the sounds of the jungle. The girls have more pictures of the zoo on their cameras, so we'll post a few more when they upload them to my computer.

Photo Shoot

Here are the pictures I promised from our day with the grandkids minus Tyler and Devon who were both spending time with other family members. Alanna is playing on a YMCA volleyball team and loves to practice all the time with anyone who'll hit the ball back to her. It was a beautiful, warm New Year's Day, so we took advantage of it and headed to the park in our housing area.

Kylee (6) is practicing with Alanna and got some pretty good hits in.
Tristen enjoyed chasing the ball around too.
We found a great tree to take some fun pictures in...AlannaAshley and Regen(17 mo.) What a great picture of them both...so pretty.

New Look!

I hope you enjoy the new look of my page. I was visiting another girls page and saw the Allie Brown logo on the side and went to check out her work...very cute and pretty easy to upload. I have some fun pictures to upload from a photo shoot of all the grandkids when we had them on New Years Eve, I'm so behind.
School is going pretty good, we got Ashley moved into her new house, and April bought a new horse trailer...life is always busy. I'll post more later.

Holidays at the Juchaus, 2008

I used to be really good about getting everything prepared and ready for the holidays. This year I still have my Christmas letter on the computer waiting for me to buy new ink, and my Christmas cards in stamped addressed envelopes...is it too late to send them out..... probably, maybe I'll just post it on my blog. We had a wonderful holiday, it was a whirlwind of commotion and excitement.

I knew that starting my degree was going to require sacrifice and hard work and that some things would suffer. I need to delegate more, and not take on so many projects. I have really enjoyed my winter break and school resumes next Saturday for me with an online computer class on Power point, followed by Monday night with a lab in Geology; Geologic Disasters and the Environment, and then, Tuesday night is History;1492-Present, and finally on Wednesday night, lecture for the Geology class. After this semester, I only need six more classes, or two more semesters before I complete my Associates in Arts in Elementary Education. Then I will move on towards my bachelors and hopefully in the next 4-6 years, I'll be teaching.

Happy New Years 2009
The Juchau Clan

Seeing how the holidays are nearly over, I contemplated on even sending a letter with my late Christmas cards, but then decided on sending everyone a Happy New Years wish.

In May, our son Kris married Jamie and they became an instant family of nine!!! We have really enjoyed the added addition of five more grandchildren to our four.

We enjoyed a reunion with the Debbie’s family in Oregon over July 4th. They live right on the coast in a quaint little tourist town called Warrenton, and boy does that town know how to celebrate; fireworks were going off all over the beach, it was quite spectacular. It was our second time experiencing the 4th of July there.

Kirk is going on seven years now with GE Healthcare Services. He travels occasionally to Kingman Arizona, Durango Colorado, Ft. Defiance, Arizona and Farmington New Mexico for his job. Debbie went with him on one of his trips to Durango and had a nice weekend getaway; the colors of fall were fantastic, something we don’t get here in Phoenix. Kirk is the Gospel Doctrine teacher in our ward and still enjoys teaching. In his spare time, he keeps busy with all the many big and small projects that home ownership provides and of course, his grandkids.

Debbie is busy with grandkids, day care kids, her own kids, and her church class of 12 year old kids. She is still attending Estrella Community College and will have her associates’ degree in the spring of 2010. She plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. In her spare time…ha, ha, ha, she tries to add a little to her blog. Our blog address is juchauclan.blogspot.com; check it out to see what our family is up too.

Aubrey (29) and David (29) have been married now for a year and a half. They still act like honeymooners. Aubrey is working for the University of Phoenix and enjoys her job as a Document coordinator and Insight specialist. She looks forward to receiving her one year raise in March and she and David hope to be able to move out. David is self-employed and is working on building his computer business. He keeps all our computers virus free and running smoothly. They have a cat named Twix, who is a year and a half and is their temporary child. In their spare time they enjoy trying out different restaurants, going to the movies, and playing video games. They are expecting their first child in September…YEAH!! We are very excited for them and can’t wait for another baby to snuggle.

Kris (28) and Jamie were married this past May. They have seven children between them starting with Tyler (11), Sierra (8), Kaleb (7), Kylee (6), Ashlynn (6) Tristen(5) and Cameron (3) next month. Kris is working for AT&T in the IT department. The kids love to play the Wii with Kris. Jamie is not only a full time mother, but is watching a few day care children as well. They enjoy camping, boating and four wheeling with Jamie’s family and friends.

April (27) and Devon (21 months) have had a year of trials and are currently living back at home. April started a new job with the University of Phoenix and works right across from her sister, Aubrey. She loves her new job and the pay raise, and hopes to be able to move out next year too. April enjoys spending time with her son, her horse, Scooter and all the hotties on ldssingle.com (If anyone knows of a hot, 28 year old fire fighter, send them her way.) Devon is a very loving little boy, who has discovered the word Mama, and hollers for her all day. He also loves motorcycles and cars.

Ashley (22) Graham (26) and Regen (18 months) have also had a year of trials. Graham was deployed to Afghanistan in May and hopes to be home in March of 2009. During that time Ashley moved from an apartment to a rental house, and will have to move again due to foreclosure and an auction in February. She is now a full time mommy, and can’t wait for Graham to return home safely. She enjoys working out in the gym, reality TV, and shopping for Regen. She is currently waiting patiently for her name to be called to start nursing school to receive her RN. Regen is a little “who” from “whoville”. She is the most petite, cutest thing. She loves playing with her cousins, and aunts and uncles. She loves all her dolls and pretends to feed them while making eating sounds for them.

Alanna (13) is in the 8th grade at Garden Lakes Elementary School. When we moved to Phoenix seven years ago, she started the first grade here, and now this coming spring, she will graduate. Where has the time gone? She has made straight A’s and is on the Principals List for all three quarters so far this year. She was also inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. She enjoys riding her horse Charlie with her sister April, playing on the YMCA volleyball team, and her dog, Rylie, her two rats, Princess and Penelope and her three goldfish, Billy Bob (the mini-whale), Thing 1 ( Frank) and Thing 2 (Hubert). She hopes to learn how to play the guitar this year and will start piano lessons again in January.

Life is full and very busy, we are grateful for all that life brings our way, especially for all of our family and friends. We have enjoyed all the Christmas cards, letters and pictures that everyone has sent. We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and hope that this New Year brings peace and happiness to you and your family.

Love to all, The Juchau family

New Child Care Website

I just completed my child care website on free webs.com. My address is djuchau.webs.com. I'm trying to stay competitive in this ever growing, demanding market. One of my day care kids, Hailey, is leaving next week, so I've been posting on Craig's list. Many of the providers have a web site, hence, the reason I made mine. I can update every month with a new calendar of activities, the monthly newsletter that I already give the parents, but now I don't have to print it out, and photos of all the fun their kids are doing. I'm going to post a couple of sample weekly menus next.

Then yesterday, my neighbor across the street came over and asked if I did child care. I said yes and that I had an opening. He has a soon to be three year old boy and will start tomorrow, yeah! The guy also said his sister-in-law has a 2 year old girl that may come also. Both kids were going to the same provider. When he went to pick up his son, he was barefoot. When he asked where his sons shoes were, she told him another child didn't have, or couldn't find his shoes, so she give the child his shoes. I'm sure that was the straw that broke the camels back for him, because he didn't take him back there today. Apparently they are unhappy with their current provider. It's a difficult job, and parents can get upset with you and not even tell you why sometimes, and they let it build and build and then...poof, they pull there child. I've been mostly lucky in all the years I've done this, I've had great parents and good communication, that's the key.

Kris was let go from his current employment on Friday, but has a job lined up with AT&T. It's a pay cut, but Jamie says, now they'll qualify for food stamps which will make up the difference hopefully. She's going today to apply and hopefully they'll get the checks in a week or so. He has interviewed with a few other companies that look promising, so hopefully he'll find the job that will pay him well.

April was hired by the University of Phoenix and today is her last day with Checkers.
She will start on Monday doing the same thing that Aubrey is doing and I think on the same floor. I can't remember Aubrey's title...my poor memory. Anyway, she's excited. Her court date is tomorrow. Both her and Damon will go before the judge and the divorce will be granted if the judge says everything is in order. It will be a bittersweet and difficult day for her.

What's every ones plan for Thanksgiving? We're staying home this year and making dinner for the gang...our door is always open if anyone wants to share this day with all of us. Hope everyone is doing well. Love, Debbie

Tolmachoff Farm and Halloween

Happy Fall to all!! We have enjoyed looking at everyone's blog and seeing what fun you all had on Halloween. Here's a few pictures of our trip to the farm and Halloween. Regen chose her outfit, she said "Owl" in the store Ashley said, thanks to her Grandmas owl collection...we look at the owls every day.
Tolmachoff farms has become a yearly adventure. Ashley went with Grahams parents, and Aubrey and David helped me when I took the day care kids.
Devon
Debbie and Devon and Nick, Jesse and Hailey. Regen went with her mom to the zoo with her work that day.
Aubrey and Devon...Aubrey had the day off.

The kids all dressed up, Nick the Pirate, Jesse the Soccer Player, Hailey the beautiful witch.
Regen the very cute bumblebee, and Devon as the adorable monkey.

Alanna wanted to be a 60's Go Go Girl.
Ashley and Regen as bumble bees, so cute.Aubrey and David as Zombie tourists. We went to our church Halloween party for a few minutes, here's Regen deciding which ducky she wants to pick.
Here's Regen and Devon trick or treating, they look so little, Regen kept trying to give people her candy from her bag.Alanna and Regen checking out their loot. Devon and April went to Damon's work to show off Devon, so I don't have many pictures of him. After April carved her pumpkin and got up from her chair, Devon decided to try his hand at it...with a pencil. How cute is that.
Here are Aubrey and Davids pumpkins. Here is this pumpkins reaction to the above pumpkins... the Mad Doctor removing the poor pumpkins skull.Ashley made this pumpkin at work for a contest and won $100.00, isn't it amazing, it's a blow fish made from candy corns she hot glued on and squishy eyes and she made the fins from felt. It took her over six hours.

Here is Alanna's pumpkin, though I had to do most of it or she would never have been ready to go out trick or treating, she had a huge project due on Halloween and just had to spend many hours on it, especially the night before Halloween when she didn't get to bed until after 11:00. I've heard back from only Lisa, Jen and Erica so far and the concensus on whether we should exchange gifts or just card for Christmas is unanimous for exchanging cards. So unless anyone feels differently, that's what we'll do this year.
